PAUL WELLER - Catch Up Review

GIG: Paul Weller
DATE: Monday 9th March 2015
VENUE: The Colosseum, Watford
COST: £38.00
OUR VERDICT: Mod Father for sure

Getting seats for this gig was a god-send - we had a really great view of the stage and didn't have to battle with the packed arena floor. The Colosseum was bulging at the sides - a total selll out as Paul Weller tours the UK, playing at venues and in towns he would not usually play!

His set was mainly his own solo material, with a few new songs thrown in to whet our appetite for his new album out soon!

The sound was very good, picking up every instrument, every note and every vocal.

Opening up with "Uh Huh, Oh Yeah" and "Into Tomorrow," is was a guitar fest from Paul and Steve. He played a few hits, "Wake Up The Nation," "Peacock Suit," and "You Do something For Me." The new songs sound great too. Really making the new album a must have.

After a couple of encores, most people thought "The Changingman" was the last number. But surprisingly, as everyone was heading out the doors, he came back on and played The Jam classic, "Town Called Malice." "Seeing as we've never played in Watford before," was his reason.
