What do you get when you bring together four members of some of Brighton's finest bands? The Peardrop Explosion is what. The Surfin' Lungs, Los Fantasticos and The Squadron Leaders are represented here, so you can be assured of a fine pedigree.
This is a 60's psychedelic covers band who stormed through a truly fantastic set, and sounded like the genuine 60's West Coast article. The guitars reverberate , the tambourine shakes, the drums sounded really great and the vocals brilliant. It felt like we were watching the Nuggets Box Set come to life.
They played a great set list (sorry, it's been a while since the gig so we've forgotten many of the tunes) but they did end the night with a superb version of Link Wray's "Rumble".
